Nebula® Double Release: Search Builder Fields and Exportable Keywords
In August, Nebula® had two important product enhancements: an overhaul of Search Builder Fields and a brand new Exportable Keywords feature. Together, these improve search usability and make it even easier to share and repurpose keyword lists. This is just another way Nebula is helping legal teams to move fast and accurately.
Search Builder Fields
eDiscovery searching can be sometimes be overwhelming with the dozens of properties that are extracted from files during processing. Nebula’s dynamic search builder gives users the ability to quickly create search conditions - simple or highly complex. Yet having better organization of these searchable fields is something users have frequently requested. This powerful update introduces more intelligent groupings and an improved UI to tie everything together.
Here’s what’s new in the Search Builder:
Smarter field groupings: Many fields are now grouped under logical parent containers, helping to keep the search interface organized.
Simplified field sets: We’ve removed a dozen unused and/or unfriendly fields, and added a few new ones that users have been asking for.
More consistent and improved operators: Common operators like “Does Not Equal” and “Greater Than or Equal” are now more standardized across similar field types.
We’ve also made upgrades to the Search Summary pane on the Searches page!
Improved UI styling: Operators are now styled with capital letters and color highlights, making them easier to stand out.
Clearer grouped field displays: Searched grouped fields summaries now show both the parent group and selected subfields.
Masking optimizations: Visual improvements for summaries that include deleted or restricted criteria.
Exportable Keywords
We’ve also introduced a new keyword exporter that allows legal teams to download line-delimited keywords into a clean, editable, and importable .txt file.
These keyword .txt files can be quickly re-imported into another keyword category, in any repository or matter the user has access to (copy>paste also works great).
Exporting keywords allows users to quickly iterate and recreate categories without having to run and convert a full-blown keyword report .csv. This saves tons of time and effort for legal teams using ECA, iterating on term variations, or working across multiple matters.
