Feature Spotlight: File Upload Notifications

The April 2025 Nebula update introduces an ‘Uploads’ tab to the user notifications dialog. This feature gives users real-time visibility into file uploads across repositories, making it easier to monitor upload progress, cancel unwanted uploads, and manage notifications more effectively. Whether users work within the Processing drag-and-drop workflow or upload files via Admin > File Browser, all uploads are tracked. This update ensures users can easily monitor their uploads in one centralized view.

Navigating the Uploads Tab

Users can access Uploads by clicking on the notifications bell.

Alongside the existing Tasks tab, users will now see another tab labeled Uploads, which includes two expandable sections:

  • Current Repository (shown above as ‘2025 Nebula Demo (Enron)’): Displays uploads for the current repository only.

  • Other Repositories: Displays uploads from other repositories where the user has been active.

Repository switching is supported and does not interrupt uploads during a session. Upload progress bars update in real time when the notification dialog is open and continue to refresh in the background when it’s closed.

Upload Controls and Features

Users have the option to cancel uploads directly from the Uploads tab. When a new upload is initiated, a circled “X” icon allows users to terminate individual uploads. Uploads are sorted after reopening or refreshing the Uploads tab, with executing items at the top and completed uploads at the bottom.

To declutter the view, users can also select the “Clear Done” button. This removes completed uploads from both the current repository and Other Repository, leaving only in-progress uploads visible. This feature is especially useful for large batch uploads or frequent repository switching, allowing users to keep track of progress with minimal distraction.

A Smarter Way to Manage File Uploads

The Uploads tab introduces a more intuitive and organized approach to managing file uploads in Nebula. With real-time progress tracking, centralized upload visibility and easy-to-use controls, users can focus more on their work and less on tracking upload statuses manually. This update reflects Nebula’s commitment to improving user workflows and delivering a seamless upload experience.
